About this tool
Crop an image into a circle to make a profile picture. Drag the photo to position the face and zoom to set the size; the result is saved with everything outside the circle left transparent.
You can add a border ring and save at the original resolution or at 1024, 512, 256 or 128 pixels. Use it wherever a round photo is needed, such as messenger, social media or work email profiles.
How to use
- Drag one photo onto the page or click to choose it.
- Drag the photo to position it, and set the size with the mouse wheel or the “Zoom” slider. The arrow keys move it too.
- Choose the output format and size, and set the border width and color if you want one.
- Click “Download” to save the circular image.
Frequently asked questions
Is the area outside the circle transparent?
With PNG, WebP or AVIF, the area outside the circle is transparent. JPEG cannot store transparency, so that area is filled with the background color you choose.
Can I use iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. A HEIC photo is first converted inside your browser, then opened in the crop view. Photos taken sideways are also turned upright using the orientation information stored in them.
Can I crop several images at once?
Images are cropped one at a time. Faces sit in a different place in every photo, so adjusting each one by hand gives better results.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens inside the browser you are using right now. Your files are never sent anywhere, so no copy of your photos or documents is left on someone else's server.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, and no sign-up or login is needed. Just open the page and start.
